TELLURIDE 4TH OF JULY PARADE INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION

ENTRY DEADLINE:

JULY 3RD, 5 PM

PARADE START: Aspen and Colorado

PARADE END: Willow and Colorado

REGISTRATION: Not only will you be eligible for prizes, but our announcers and judges will be able to recognize you by name for your hard work.  Anyone is welcome to be in the parade without registering, but please check in with us for staging information.

NUMBERS: YOUR NUMBER INDICATES YOUR SEQUENCE IN THE PARADE AND IS COLOR CODED TO YOUR CATEGORY. THE ASSIGNED CATEGORY MAY BE CHANGED TO ADEQUATELY REFLECT YOUR ENTRANT. Pick up at Davis and Colorado beginning at 8:30 am parade morning.

STAGING: You will be told which side of the street to stage when you pick up your number. Please be there by 10:45 am. Keep the middle of the street clear.

FLOATS/VEHICLES: Exit parade route left (north) at Willow. If you don’t think you can make this turn because of the design or maneuverability of your float/vehicle, proceed east on Colorado at least one block.

ALL OTHER ENTRANTS: Turn right (south) on Willow.

DO NOT STOP IN THE INTERSECTION OF WILLOW AND COLORADO. PLEASE.

GUIDELINES:

These guidelines are in place to reduce waste and keep everyone safe.  They are not just our rules, they reflect the Town of Telluride’s guidelines. 

1. 1. 1. CANDY – DO NOT THROW IT . WALK OVER AND HAND IT OUT

      2. CONFETTI – NEVER A GOOD IDEA.  PLEASE DON’T USE..

      3. WATER – NO WATER BALLOONS.  YOU MAY USE WATER GUNS ON OTHERS WHO HAVE WATER GUNS. DO NOT SHOOT ANYONE ELSE. PERIOD.

      4. OPEN CONTAINER LAW WILL BE ENFORCED

      5. ONLY LICENSED DRIVERS SHOULD OPERATE VEHICLES.

AWARDS: Best of Parade Trophy and trophies for First Place in all categories to be presented in Town Park on the Stage at 1:15 p.m.

IMPORTANT:  THERE WILL BE FOLKS ON THE ROADSIDE AS YOU ENTER TOWN.  THIS SLOWS TRAFFIC FLOW. COLORADO AVE WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC THE MORNING OF THE 4TH.  IF YOU DRIVE IN, YOU WILL NEED TO DO SO EARLY AND FIND PARKING ON A SIDE STREET.  IF YOU PLAN ON TAKING THE GONDOLA TO TOWN FROM MT VILLAGE, ALLOW FOR AN EXTRA HOUR OF WAIT TIME.
